Bhojpur, April 21: The District Administration Office, Bhojpur issued a high alert to human settlement around the Arun River that was blocked by a landslide debris.
An emergency meeting of the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee held today urged the locals to stay on high-alert to the possible consequences stemming from the river blockade.
The Office urged locals not to go for fishing in the river and for cattle grazing around the river area, deciding to ban the movement of boats along the river in the wake of the river blockage, according to Committee Coordinator and Chief District Officer Goma Devi Chemjong.
The landslide caused by a flood in the Barun River in the district has been obstructing water from flowing into the Arun River at Syakshila Gola in Bhote Khola Rural Municipality since Thursday evening.
