Taplejung, April 22: Three schoolteachers in Taplejung district have tenered their resignation to the District Education Office, Taplejung, to contest the upcoming local polls in the district.
Three teachers including a temporary one resigned to vie for the post of ward chairs from the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML).
Jaya Bahadur Khadka, the Headmaster of Surke Secondary School based in Merengden Rural Municipality-7, Kul Prasad Limbu of Danda Lower Secondary School in Maiwakhola Rural Municipality and Bhumi Prasad Tamang of Hirintar Primary School based in Sidingma Rural Municipality quit their job to contest the poll.
The Nepali Congress has selected Khadka as the ward chair of Merengden Rural Municipality-7 while Limbu is likely to get ticket of ward chair of Maiwakhola Rural Municipality-5 from the CPN (UML). Khadka and Limbu served as the teacher for 33 years and 23 years, respectively.
Similarly, Tamang, who taught for 19 years, is contesting the poll for ward chair of Sidingma Rural Municipality-7 from the CPN (UML). RSS
